Cottage food label examples
Example labels for all 8 states our tool supports: chocolate chip cookies, sourdough bread and chocolate fudge. Each image was downloaded from our free label maker, the same code that makes your label, so what you see is what you get.
The business on every example is made up: “Sample Kitchen”, 123 Example St, Anytown, ZIP 00000, phone (555) 555-0100 and registration numbers 00000. Replace them with your own details before you print. Open any example in the tool to edit it.

Printing on Avery 5163 sheets
Short labels fit Avery 5163 (2 × 4 in, 10 per US Letter sheet) at the same type size as the regular download. The tool checks the fit for you and tells you when a label is too long for the sheet instead of shrinking the text. Print at 100% (“Actual size”), not “Fit to page”.
Check alignment on plain paper first: hold the test print against a label sheet before printing on labels.
About these examples
- Each state’s statement and extra lines follow our state guides, checked against official sources (how we verify).
- Every line is at least 1/16 inch tall (lower case “o”) when printed at 100%, FDA’s minimum type size. Ingredients are listed by weight, heaviest first, with sub-ingredients in parentheses.
- The examples have no Nutrition Facts panel. Whether you need one depends on your state and how you sell: see your state guide.
